More "Blackie"

"Blackie's" salt sled. Fully equipped with optional ironing board. Dig those drag bars but the rear tire is giving me the heebees. Love the safety gear (or lack there of) in the first pic - you can almost see his massive attachments from 20yards.

You Know They Heard The Guns of War...

An hour after this picture was taken war reporter's Sean Flynn and Dana Stone (left to right) rode rented Honda's into Cambodia seeking adventure and a story to tell. 40 years later they are still missing. Today I heard a movie is in the works. I'm satisfied with Joe Strummer's version of their story and wish Hollywood would leave their ghosts alone.

A Perfect Pair

Nothing compliments a tight little X650 like an elegantly bobbed ULH.

1969

Twilight of the ponycar days. Legendary job shop Kar-Kraft was at the epicenter. Yunick's Trans-Am sled was one of the best looking of the bunch.

ThunderDrome 2010

In the history books for now - the 2010 Thunderdrome races proved to be worth the price of admission (free), with a full days worth of bike/scooter/pitbike racing including a barn burner of a grudge race finisher which put the two fastest scooters up against John's (from Cafe Racer) all dominating Kawi pit bike. With the lead switched off more than the 5 laps of the race itself, fate checked in and dialed up a nail bitter of a finish (pic above) as the fastest scooter stole the lead from John at the absolute last second. Damn that was close. The free beer at the after party put the icing on the cake. All went home happy in extra skinny jeans...
