A Western Roll - PT12 - Will's Post BF4 BBQ

As if Born Free 4 wasn't already enough - the next day Will Thomas throws a shindig with a pig at his beach side abode. The place was jammed with good people and great bikes. We rolled over with Caleb in the early afternoon and rolled home in the gold with JD, Cindy and their friend from Japan.  Kinda sad as this was our last ride in Southern California for this trip.  Caleb and all his friends had been so generous with their time and attention we didn't want to leave - it felt like we were being extracted from some kind of dream and jarred back into reality. The next day it was back up to S.F for some business and then onto...well we hadn't got that far yet.  More to come...

The Springfield Mile - This Weekend!

After buying up all the old chopper parts the antique guys don't want at Davenport head on over to the Indy 500 of flat track racing in Illinois - The Springfield Mile.  Flat track racing (especially the mile) makes other types of motorsport look like a game of bridge.  There is nothing else like it.

147MPH @ Bonneville!

Clyde Douglas and Bob Lewis (seated) managed to twist their 1945 Knucklehead up to a blistering 147.4 mph at Speed week a couple weeks back.  A BIG congrats to both of you guys for your new record!  Setting the bar pretty high for stock-ish vintage big twins out at Bonni and within 5mph of the MVG 1350cc record set by the Vincent crew from New Zealand a couple years back.  See you guys out there next year for sure.

Tipsy's Gold

Look what Tipsy found at the local flea market last weekend!  I believe the top pic is a pre-war Injun.  The middle is a killer shot of a young buck drifting a flexi-car - check out his left hand choking up on the bars and his foot pushing on the side hack body!  The last one is amazingly of a mint condition pea shooter!  Tipsy has his garage sale karma thumping along on both cylinders!  Great stuff!

Wauseon Randoms - PT1

Flat track racing, vintage motorcycle parts, tents, all-night bluegrass, vintage motorcycles, good friends, home made ice cream and squirt-gun fights.  It does not get much better then Wauseon.
