The Sam & Tom Show

Thanks Jason!

Winter Build Update #3

Terry sent some more pics tonight.  Virgin flywheels!  Until today they had not been apart since 1959.  I'm surfing some good karma right now....

Winter Build Update #2

Terry G.(Greasy Kulture #25) split the cases on my '62 FL mill yesterday and found good things, very good things.  Here we go!  Walter I need those Akront's!!!  More to come....

Thanks Greg!!!

I know, I know, the "swag and tell" is the lamest form of blogging there is but this is too cool.  After I ran the note about Burt Munro from Fab Kevin I got an email from Greg at The Horse magazine asking for an address.  A couple days later this shows up.  THANKS GREG!!! Wow, I'm still in shock.  BTW the original Fab Kevin article about the Burt Munro Challenge ran in the March 2010 Issue of The Horse (#96).  It's a great read and a very well written article. It's worthy of a hunt if you don't already own it.  Or just step up to the plate and subscribe!

Fab Kevin's Scrambler

I am digging Fab Kevin's winter build - this stout little "scrambler". Check out those pipes!  Kevin tells me it's his version of a factory superglide, or what he wished a factory superglide would  have looked like.  I've seen it up close and the details are really nice.  Can't wait to see the final product this spring.

Couch Swap

Being stuck on the couch here has allowed me some time to frequent the virtual swap meets, thumb through various parts catalogs and even do some searching via cell phone for parts.  Hunting has been good.  From finding a replacement scavenger pump housing for the ULH rebuild to a nice Electric Franks voltage regulator.    Even stopped buy the toy department for this killer Britains, J.A.Prestwich Industries Jap powered rail that Alf Hagon rode into the history books (thanks JP!). The sissy bar I found on foot this past summer at a real swap meet - I just wanted to show it off a little and find out if anyone knew anything about it?  I'm bored...

In the Mix

I finally got around to mixing down a recent musical project at Detroit's world famous Hi-Bias recording studio.  It's strategically placed just across the street from the best BBQ (Slows) and the best new craft bar (Sugar House) in motown. Hail hail rock& roll - and good pulled pork and bourbon!

The Purpose #51

Grounded

There are so many places to be this weekend; the Lowbrow Brodown in Cinci, Jeremiah's Love Cycle's party in AZ and Walter's Kick Start Cycle gig in Jersey but I had to go and tear up my knee. Finally went under the knife and scope the other day so I'm stuck on the couch healing up.  Wish I could be at any of those gatherings but for now I'm happy knowing that soon I'll be able to ride again...
