Euro Crew

Can't remember where or whom these pics came from (sorry) but I love them because they make me want to call up a few of my confidantes and roll. These pics really capture the spirit of what we do... and every bike shown trips the traps. It's going to be 60 degrees this weekend - let's ride!

I have a dream...

"American ingenuity" or "what were they thinking?" Every ground breaking idea has a little of both. Thinking out of the box is NEVER a bad idea. The disturbing war machines kinda freak me out though...

Dust Bowl

I found these dust bowl pics the other day and have been intrigued by them ever since. Imagine millions of tons of sand and dirt falling from the sky on a daily basis for close to a decade. It caused one of the largest domestic migrations of people to the West coast before or since and it all happened during the Great Depression.

Our Daily Sled #13

Lovley photo, lovley knuck. Check the tu-tone rims, tu-tone tin and bobbed rear fender, clean man, clean.

NBNW

Cinema perfecto... I think I rode through this intersection in Iowa this past summer.

Cycle Porn #5

Roman Holiday circa '67 (best guess).

Mini Beemer

How cool is that? BMW Rensport 1/4 scale.

Technique

You don't see Canson renderings like this anymore but in the 6 decades before now you were not worth a hoot as a designer if you couldn't bang out a killer little rendering like this one in a pinch on Canson. Computers are great but something warm does get lost in the technology.
I think Robert Williams (a guess) may have done this one for Roth back in the day. Anybody? Chris from Cali informs me it was penned by Ed Newton who worked for Roth in the way back. Thanks Chris

Tipsy's new Injun....

12,000 miles in four weeks PT 7 - Davenport

Joe and Art stopped by Davenport on their way to Sturgis. They both rode their knucks all the way.

S&S "Tramp" redux.

Pretty Injun. Does that chain guard remind you of your childhood Stingray?

Purty brakes too.

Same guy that built the Indian above also built this Vincent. He nailed his details - notice how the arc of that hose matches the arc of the exhaust? Sweet.

Ancient "Old Black Joe" hill climber.

Oops...

Board track eye candy.

And a little more.

Flexi.

One of the nicest WLR's I've ever seen!

Yummy.

Gettin a leg up...ok that was lame.

Dinner trip. I love Art's whole Steamboat captain look.
Checking out Gene's Bonneville entry.

Midnight trailer crew. The beers and BS always flow at Gene's rig after hours.

Gettin silly on Gene's hardware. Art took me by a beard length.

Davenport was SO much better then the last time I attended 3 years ago. The turn out was huge and the swap meet was bigger as well. I found some original floorboards and a saddle bag for the '39 which was waiting for me in Milwaukee at the 105th party. Tune in next time for the final instalment of this report. Cheers.

Wild and Wicked

See you all tomorrow...

Staff meeting noodle...

Daytona 2008 Revisited

Joe, his just finished "Fancy Pan" and the first version of my '39 ULH. We were waiting to get into the pits at DIS for the vintage bike races.

Sublime.

Picky Jim with Joe discussing the upcoming financial meltdown (okay, they were talking about old motorcycles).

My good friend Art Farley on number 96X. I think he won this heat race.

Japanese WLR entry.

Art gettin her ready.

Dave Wasserman and his bitchin '40 Knucklehead.
