The Ohio Mile

The East Coast Timing Association's inaugural Ohio Mile happened this past weekend. Although the weather was so crappy that we only got to make two runs, we won a record with each.  131mph was the best speed we ran (ever) and that was (thanks to your's truly) with a fumbled shift from 3rd to 4th.  It all started with Greg coming over Friday afternoon (in the warm Michigan sun) to help load up the gear and the bike.  He also assumed crew chief duties for the weekend which included; sleeping in a freezing pick-up truck, getting soaked in multiple ice cold rains, almost getting hit by lightning, eating McDonald's for two days straight, enduring racetrack porta-potties, sharing a bed with another man and kick starting a stubborn race bike about a thousand times. Love you my brother! Lurch also made the trek down south on Sunday to watch his beautiful engine run in anger - which it did.  The thing sounds unreal at 6k RPM!  We weren't the only crew grinning from ear to ear from success - Rivet (from the Damaged blog ) and his New Jersey crew turned out a 161MPH run with a turbo charged 650 BSA!  The sun finally came out the minute we shut the door to the trailer and pulled out of the venue - oh well.  Had a blast anyway and we get to do the whole thing all over again in June.  Then it's on to Bonneville.  THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO SHOWED SUPPORT BY PLUNKING DOWN THEIR HARD EARNED CASH FOR ONE OF MY T-SHIRTS!!!!  We could not do this without you.

Congrats on the great run. Great pics, (that flathead with the knobbies is sweet.)
I'm about two hours west of the venue, it has barely rained all spring, until this past weekend.

Damn the luck.

Haven't checked out the blog for a couple of weeks so have only just seen this post... Anyways, glad to hear that the Bonnepan is kicking the proverbial - and it looks as good as it goes too.
Special mention to that beautiful flathead with the knobblies as well. :)
