OILY SOULS is an invitational motorcycle show and party. 25 bikes on display inside the distillery of TWO JAMES SPIRITS - Detroit's first distillery since prohibition. Located in Detroit's historic Corktown Neighborhood. There will only be one award at the show - given to the best bike ridden to the event by a spectator. We are currently looking for a few product donations for this award. MUCH more to come...
Should be done with the 2-up transformation tonight. Don't worry it can be swapped back to 1-up in about 10 minutes. Born Free here we come!

Fostoria was our second stop of the day - a quiet little town with a biker bar at it's center. We relaxed in the streets after a ride of about 30 bikes departed leaving us the last non-natives in town. On the return leg home I broke a gas tank tab off the front of my red bike so we had to stop to strap the tank down. No issues after that except for a few drops of rain. Thanks to all guys for sharing the day. Davey is riding back to California as we speak - Terry and I will be making the same trip on Saturday for Born Free 5. Ry will be conjuring up his spooky magic in the garage at home - something sure to blow minds by mid summer.

Ry, Terry, Davey and I took a ride into the thumb on Saturday. The Hotel Liquor in Otisville was our first destination for a solid lunch and a beer or two. Ry snapped his clutch cable as we glided into the lot behind the bar. No sweat - the only other business open in town was the hardware store across the street. Sitting at the bar I looked down and found the scratch above - we were not the first guys to ride to the Hotel Liquor...

Once we got the bike out of Ohio and up into the Detroit area we headed over to Terry's so he could help Mike make sure it was going to be road worthy for the 3k he was about to do. New tires, fluids, grease, some bushings and a look into the primary to figure out what was making the metallic racket when shifting up from 1st? The last owner was a BIG guy, and had made some extensions for pegs and controls. Thankfully he tossed the original controls into the deal for Mike, so a quick swap of those parts was in order as well. Terry and Mike had the entire next day to get the bike in shape for the trip and by looking (and riding) the bike you'd assume that there would be more than enough time for the job - of course when dealing with old motorcycles nothing ever goes as planned...

Picked up Mr. Schmidt from the airport yesterday and bolted down to Ohio to pick up his new baby - an '82 Sturgis survivor. He's planning on riding it back to the left coast. Terry is putting a little tune on it right now as I type. He leaves in the AM. I probably don't need to mention it but he is VERY stoked.

Some assembly pics. Pretty involved fairing installation. I only have to do it every time I change the oil... I carved the seat foams shown above. Don't worry, it won't be baby blue, were going with pink.
