Brooklyn Between the Bars PT2 - Into the Belly of the Beast

Riding into NYC from New Jersey on a rigid, single brake, mirror-less chopper is not for those who spook easily. Besides the ultra-aggro drivers looking for any sliver to cram their cars into, the roads suck beyond belief.  I saw holes in the road go by next to me (thank god) that would swallow a linebacker whole.  Patches between sections varied in elevation from an inch to half a foot - don't think I road over a smooth one the entire trip. We got lost - a few times. I think we crossed more bridges then we really had too but we did see a lot of the city which was super cool.  Once we finally made it to Brooklyn we rolled over to Root Studios where the show would be happening the following day. We met Dave Polgreen, Watermelon Pete, Zac Doom and Andy from Pangeaspeed. Most of the bikes had already been loaded-in so we got to take a good long look before the masses which was a gift. When there is no one around, and the place is quiet, like it was, you can really focus on the details in the bikes.  We spent time soaking in the bikes - the morning flew by.  I took a bunch of pics but most turned out like crap because of a bad camera setting - sorry.  The few that are decent are shown above.  Don't worry I had my act together for the show and I'll be posting those pics soon...

Brooklyn Between the Bars PT1 - Head East

Day 2

By chance we ran into Dave Polgreen and Zac Doom - the sun was out, the temp was warm and the karma was high.

After some food Dave tried on Ruby and deemed her acceptable.

The further East we rode the better the scenery became.

Our first stop once near New York was Walter's Kickstart Cycle Shop in Hackensack.  Walter rules.  It's always a hoot catching up...

Slept well that night after 2 days and 750 miles on the road.  Was hoping to make it into Brooklyn that night but we never made it.  The following day was the Dice pre-party and 100 other pre-BI celebrations...rest would be required.
