Derby Day
Had the chance to witness my first pinewood derby the other night when Harley Dave from the Dearborn Scouts asked me to be a judge for the race. Of course I was stoked to do it since I had missed the chance to build my own car back in the day (I was in Indian Guides!). Max, the little guy in the pic above on the far left with the 100 octane grin took top honors. Thanks to the Dearborn Scouts for the invitation and congrats to all the guys from pack 1154 who built cars for the race!

Vintage Bling
Was stuck at home healing from my knee surgery last week so I decided to make some period bling for Rosemary. I had stamped here name in a piece of raw hide a while back and Paul (from the post below) was able to dye it black early in the week when I was immobile. Tipsey dropped it off mid-week and I had it finished up by the weekend.

Wauseon 2011
It's about time to mark the calender for the 2011 Wauseon national meet. July 15th-17th. This is a pic of some of our understated crew from last year - we had a blast for two days straight, not much sleep but... Wauseon as I've mentioned before is my favorite meet. Something about the location, massive size of the swap and relaxed attitude of the people that attend all work for me. Remember the vintage flat track racing is on Friday night beginning at 6pm sharp. If you want to camp sans hassle at the gate become a member of the AMCA now.

Fresh Rebuild
Why has there been a lack of snowboarding posts this season? Because my knee was shot and had to be rebuilt. Luckily the same surgeon who takes care of the Red Wings and the Tigers went through mine with a fine tooth comb...and a few arthroscopic devices. Now I'm ready to skate - Doc says I might even be able to get some late spring snowboarding in way out West (Bob, let's do it)! Oh wait a minute...I almost forgot, I need to learn how to walk again. Physical therapy begins tomorrow...argh.
