Not So SloJoe
Congrats to our native mitten Cannonballer Joe Gardella on his 2nd place finish in the 2012 3,900 mile cross country blitz. Slojoe finished with a perfect score, edged out of first place only by the year his 1914 HD twin was manufactured - a year later then Brad Wilmarth's 1913 Excelsior. Another Michigan native Art Farley also finished with a perfect score in 11th place on a 1928 HD. Way-to-go gents.

Started off the weekend by lane-splitting the entire length of Manhattan at rush hour on Rosemary - awesome fun! Never thought to myself "OMG it's over!" so many times in one ride. Made it to the 6 Over premiere in Brooklyn in time to catch up with friends from both coasts. Walter - playing the Mayor of NYC for the weekend - got things rolling with a little speech and a heave-hoe. After the movie we rolled over to the Gutter bar for the Dice party and ensuing madness. Bikes, bikes, bikes everywhere! It's on - if your goal is to be hipper than everyone else in NYC you need skinny jeans and a sportster and you need it NOW! Had a great night which was capped off by passing everyone on Manhattan in Walter's '67 Ford Ranger on the way back to New Jersey. You have not lived until you have driven with Walter. Guys got one helluva big heart though and I love 'em for it. We made it home in one dizzy piece and instantly crashed storing energy for the big day ahead. The next morning we did the drive all over again. By the time we got to Kent street a few bikes had already begun to gather. After a little breakfast with Mr. Schmidt we simply laid back and watch the droves roll in...
