Heal Fast My Friend
Got the word earlier tonight that Caleb had been hit by a car today out in L.A. We've all had our moments out there, some have lived to tell the stories, some have not. I'm SUPER stoked to report that Caleb is still very much with us - he just texted me and told me so. Heal fast my friend...our thoughts are with you.

ULH Tank Redux
Part 3 in the continuing saga. After weeks of chemical soak and shake that did nothing (MEK) I cut the inside of each tank out to gain access to a half-assd tank sealant application that happened sometime before I owned them. Then, using a small screw driver, vodka and many tedious hours I removed about 90% by hand, but the remaining coating would have to be removed under the media gun - or so I thought. Turns out not even 90psi of media could get all of it, but this stuff called "Airplane Paint Stripper" that Ry had in his shop melted it all like butter! I've never been happier to meet a chemical. A little more scraping, a couple power-washings, and they were ready to weld up all nice and clean. Ry did the honors, and like all of his work, they turned out perfect. I peeled back 20 layers of protective tape and found that the crappy old paint still looked crappy! alright! One last flush-out and they will be ready to hang on the frame.

Special Delivery...
To ALL my friends and family, I am truly thankful for you all. Hope everyone got a chance to think about what is really important on this journey. Rosemary and I were in charge of the wine menu tonight at my folks place. Air temps in the 60's took a bit of the chill off the New Zealand whites but the Russian River Valley pinot's were ready as soon as we arrived. Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Weekend Swap
Unless you were looking for a set of hard bags for your roadking it was slim pickins at our local swap last weekend. Having said that there were still some diamonds in the rough and I brought home a few. I have to admit I had a great time. Thanks to everyone that said hello! Dustin - never got your text! Drop a line brother.

Back On The Pan
Stopped by Fab Kevin's tonight and picked up my Panhead project. Kevin was re-aligning the top motor mount tab - it was whacked - but now it's perfect. I also asked him to create the motor mount itself - the stock one's are...well, stock. I'm stoked with the way it came out. Thinking about a another tweak to that outside surface before it's done but it's enough to sit back and ponder for now. If you need some top shelf fab work or any other parts made check out Kevin here http://www.fabkevin.com/
George & Jane Champagne
Found these two Border Patrol MC club trophies at a junk store on a run up to Bay City on Saturday. The company that made them is from Hazel Park, Mi according to the tag on the bottom of both. George & Jane Champagne must have been a pretty colorful couple - anyone locals heard of them?

Jeb@Speed
I love taking pics like these...it only took about 125 blurry messes to get this one. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.

Getting Close...
Stopped by Terry's last night to check out the progress on his new build - a jewel like shovel head snugly resting in a massaged VL frame. One of my favorite new bikes and proving that a builder from the mitten can compete with anyone from the top of the class.

The Oil Stained Brain - Melbourne
Our new Australian corespondent "Sleepy" sent this dispatch from the land down under. Look forward to more moto/art/surfing news from OZ in the near future. Welcome aboard Craigo! Here are his words and pics from the show. "Oil stained Brain was the first show of it's kind in Melbourne. It showcased art, 33 home built bikes, film, and music. Located off one of Melbourne's infamous laneways, OSB was a hit and sure to be an annual event. Though not very big, the spectrum of bikes and art was vast, the venue was open and raw, and the music was pure punk. Bravo!"
