Born Free 6 Build - PT7

I laid out some graphics on top of the pagan gold base Ry put down a few nights ago.  We are going for a deco inspired design that will incorporate the stock '58 badges and echo the SportyTT paint scheme that we've come to love.  Moving forward fast now...

Memorial Day Run to the Thumb

Did the OilySouls2 "Run to the Thumb" (not so) dry-run this past weekend with Dusty. Mark August 8th on your summer calender right now.  This three day lap around Michigan's thumb is going to be epic. 3-days, hundreds of miles, great lakes, warm weather, multiple bars, camping, riding, riding, riding and more riding. Then two weeks later the chopper world focuses in on Detroit for the OilySouls2 show at Two James Spirits.  Here comes the summer!

Let me tell you about my boat....

Goodbye Mom.

Sorry for the delay in posts.  I spent the past week with my mom at home who unfortunately passed away from Cancer on Wednesday.  My mother was an amazing human who continued to teach me things right up until the end.  An Artist, teacher, lover of life, and a mother. Always growing and never sitting still for too long. She was a do-er till the end who held the bar high for herself and those around her. Her life was worth celebrating and thankfully she was able to come home from the hospital for the last 6 days of her life and celebrate we did. She told us all that her last wish was to die alone. We told her that was not an option - too many people who loved her had her surrounded day and night.  But being my mother (who cut her own path in life) she managed to slip away on her own terms in a brief moment when she was alone - getting her wish.  My mom was a maverick and had a thirst for discovery. She passed that gene on to me and when I begin to feel uncomfortable because I'm sitting still I know that's just my mom in me. She loved to ride with me too and never liked it when I took it easy for her, always whispering in my ear "Faster Brad!". I will miss her every day.

Born Free 6 - PT4 - The PAPA-GLIDE

So here it is - what we've been calling the Papa-Glide. These are the design sketches we have been building to for the last 5 months. Come on out to Born Free 6 in California at the end of June and see if we even got close to delivering our vision...

Born Free 6 Build - PT3

The bike is a collection of bits and pieces at the moment but we are making real progress. Frame is finished and painted.  Motor is being re-assembled as I type. Bodywork is either painted or in primer. Nacelle and front end are complete. Our oil tank is built and painted. Wheels are built and awaiting a rubber curve ball we thought up. Some minor mechanical bits are still awaiting creation. We are feeling stressed but pretty solid on the bike so far.  I've begun the graphics for the tins on my sketchpad. Ry's pretty much built everything else.  Greg's wallet is a little thinner but he remains completely stoked.  Stay tuned...
