Dust Bowl

I found these dust bowl pics the other day and have been intrigued by them ever since. Imagine millions of tons of sand and dirt falling from the sky on a daily basis for close to a decade. It caused one of the largest domestic migrations of people to the West coast before or since and it all happened during the Great Depression.

Technique

You don't see Canson renderings like this anymore but in the 6 decades before now you were not worth a hoot as a designer if you couldn't bang out a killer little rendering like this one in a pinch on Canson. Computers are great but something warm does get lost in the technology.

I think Robert Williams (a guess) may have done this one for Roth back in the day. Anybody? Chris from Cali informs me it was penned by Ed Newton who worked for Roth in the way back. Thanks Chris

Davenport was SO much better then the last time I attended 3 years ago. The turn out was huge and the swap meet was bigger as well.
