Rosemary's New Toolbox

So I mentioned I found the real-deal, genuine HD toolbox thanks to my good (new) friend Nelson from Florida. The only problem was the finish was wrong for Rosemary. Also the tin was pretty banged up on the top (see first pic) to the point where the box did not want to stay closed. But the price was right and it was real so after I borrowed a few metal working tools from Dwayne at FMC I managed to straighten it out completely and get a good seal on the lid to boot. Now it just needed a trip to the art department for some color work. I needed to make the old flaking chipped up silver paint black. I love doing stuff like this and after a couple hours it was done. I installed it and took a couple pics. I'm pretty satisfied and now Rosemary has a little more room in here old saddlebags... Sunday, March 13, 2011

Police Special
SloJo scared up this prime police special speedo last year at Eustis for a song. Exactly one year later Hammer returned it to me all fresh like inside. Had a moment to install it on my '39 ULH tonight and I must say it's the cat's pajamas. Thanks to both SloJo for the find and Hammer for the re-build!
Rosemary & Kin
One of the best perks about having Rosemary down south was giving her the chance to catch up with lost kin. Hammers original paint Pan happens to be a '50 as well so we kept them parked close to each other the whole weekend. It had been over 60 years since they last shared the factory floor in Milwaukee so they had a lot to discuss. Eventually they even went on a ride together which was a hoot.

I Met Mike in Key Largo on my way down to Key West. He was staying with all around good guy Doc. Both Doc and Mike had some choice sleds being dusted off for Eustis the following week. This Knuck that Mike found in California was an ex Boozefighters ride left in a pile at the back of some one's garage. Mike put it together in time to meet me and my camera.Wednesday, March 9, 2011
The Old Bike Shop - Dallas Texas

Thanks to an email from Aaron in Dallas I was able to find two great shops during my stay in Texas last week. Here are some pics from The Old Bike Shop. Not only does this shop have one of the best looking interior shop spaces I have seen it also has an unbelievably well stocked museum in the back. Sorry I did not get a chance to talk to you in person Aaron - next time my friend.Tuesday, March 8, 2011
