A Western Roll - PT5
I had always wanted to visit Woody Creek, Colorado. HST called it home and held court at the legendary Woody Creek Tavern so a roll to the tavern was necessary. After that we rested up for a day and night in Breckenridge - thanks to Bob and Sara for the epic view, hospitality and great Mexican food. Our last stop in Colorado was Boulder. Shayna has always wanted to see it because her mother had lived there for a spell. I love the place and have been there many times so it was not difficult to convince me to go - so we went. On the way home back across the plains we stumbled across route 36 east which turned out to be a relaxing way to get home vs. the interstate. Not many gas stations to be found east of Denver but a little further along in Kansas it got easier. We also found all kinds roadside culture in the zillion corn fields we rolled through including tons of sweet old tin and the worlds largest ball of twine. I think that's about it for this trip hope you enjoyed the pics. Like I said there's a lot of beautiful country out there to see. Get to it.

lovin' your photos - they dont look like 2011
I actualy lived just up the mountain across the street from Woody Creek Tavern. You were only about a hour trip up the hill to the best view in the Rockies.
Seems kinda sureal to see it on your blog.
Back in '09 I picked up US36 out of Idalia, Colorado-we rolled on it from there all the way to Indianapolis. Made me a believer in non-superslab travel! I am enjoying your trip pictures very much!
Looks fantastic, I dig the twine ball.
